Students come from nearly 50 countries and a wide range of backgrounds — and the Student Life Office provides services to ensure they have the best academic and extracurricular experience possible.

Career Development is made up of a team of experienced journalists guiding students to be competitive in the job market, with advising, workshops and events and an annual Career Expo.

At the heart of Columbia Journalism School’s mission – training journalists to cover a multifaceted and ever-changing world – is the precept that our community must be an authentic reflection of that world.

Here, acceptance comes not only based on who will be the best students — but also become the best alumni. The Columbia Journalism experience binds cohorts together for decades.
