From the Office of Strategic Initiatives:
"Since the founding of the United States, Jewish people have played a pivotal role in shaping communities, upholding democracy and contributing to the national conversation — including through work in the field of journalism. They have been essential voices in American history, society and culture. At a time when violence against Jewish people has risen in the U.S., it is especially important to recognize their achievements and impact during Jewish Heritage Month. We encourage everyone to learn about the Jewish diaspora to expand their understanding and appreciation of this ever-evolving and diverse community.
We also acknowledge the work of the American Jewish Press Association which supports Jewish journalists and fosters dialogue across the media landscape."
