The CJS community has not only been diligently reporting on the pivotal presidential election in the United States but has also followed elections happening across the globe. Read on for a handful of reporting highlights from Columbia Journalism School alumni, students, faculty, and more.

Reporting on Asia

Reporting on the Middle East and Africa 

Lynsey Chutel, '10 M.S., followed South Africa’s African National Congress Party’s historic dip in support and their subsequent success after party leader Cyril Ramaphosa was elected as a second-term president of the country for The New York Times.

Emmanuel K. Dogbevi, '14 M.S., 2022 Christopher J. Welles Memorial Prize winner and founder and managing editor of Ghana Business News, reported on Ghana's 2024 general election for the organization.

Ahmad Noorani, '23 M.S., continues to publish investigations on the Pakistani government through his news site, Fact Focus.
