Henry Pringle Lecture
Henry F. Pringle was a faculty member at Columbia Journalism School from 1932 to 1943. A renowned magazine writer and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Pringle established the popular lecture titled "How to Be a Newspaperman" during his time at the J-School.
After his death in 1958, a group of CJS alumni who had been taught by Pringle gathered to discuss a fitting tribute to their teacher and proposed the creation of a guest lecture fund. Today, the annual Pringle Lecture series continues to inspire future journalists, enriching the School’s curriculum and helping meet the need for enlightened national news coverage.
