Paul Robeson Conference 2024 | Meet Me at the Crossroads: The Black Voice During Pivotal National Moments featuring a keynote conversation with Eric H. Holder, Jr. and Melissa Murray 

The Black Law Students Association at Columbia Law School and the Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative for Civil and Political Rights are excited to welcome esteemed guests from the legal community to discuss the "Black Voice During Pivotal National Moments" at this year's Paul Robeson Conference. 3:15-3:30pm: Welcome remarks from Dawchelle Hamilton and Amir Jones, Paul Robeson Conference Co-Chairs

3:30-4:20pm: Meet Me on the Field: A discussion on the power of sports to highlight social issues featuring James Cadogan LAW’06, Executive Director of the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition, and Teri Smith LAW’01, Chief Operating Officer of the National Football League Players Association; moderated by Kendall Thomas, Nash Professor of Law at Columbia Law School (co-sponsored by the Columbia Law Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society (EASLS)) 

4:20-4:35pm: Refreshment break

4:40-5:30pm: Meet Me at the Ballot Box: A discussion on the Black vote and its role in the 2024 elections featuring Patrick Berry, Counsel in the Democracy Project at the Brennan Center for Justice, and Adriel Cepeda Derieux LAW'10, Deputy Director of the Voting Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union; moderated by Kerrel Murray, Associate Professor of Law at Columbia Law School (co-sponsored by Columbia Law Students for Voting Rights (SVR))
