Charles W. Stevens

Chuck Stevens joined the faculty after more than three decades as a senior editor at Bloomberg News and a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal, working in print, online and broadcast media.

During his 22 years at Bloomberg, he was a New York-based editor of global features, edited Wall Street coverage and opinion columnists, and oversaw newsletters. His assignments also included managing the platform’s worldwide Top News pages, serving as an editor in Hong Kong for the Asia-Pacific region, and working as a show producer for Bloomberg Television.

At The Wall Street Journal, Stevens was a Page One feature editor and covered financial markets in New York, the auto industry from the Detroit bureau, and general assignments in the Boston bureau.

At Columbia, Stevens is an instructor for Reporting, the core course in the Master of Science program; Journalism Ethics; and Business and Economic Reporting. He also serves as a thesis advisor for Master’s Projects and an editor for the Columbia News Service, which publishes student work.

Stevens is a graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
