Abi Wright
Abi Wright is the Executive Director of Columbia Journalism School’s Professional Prizes and Programs. Previously, she worked at the Committee to Protect Journalists as communications director and Asia program officer, covering attacks on journalists in the region. Abi also was a producer at ABC News, NBC News and Fox News. She worked at the NBC News Moscow bureau in the 1990's, and speaks Russian. She originally joined Columbia Journalism School as the director of the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards. Under her leadership, prizes' programs have secured new funding, expanded their activities, and increased their visibility and impact within the journalism community. She is a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.
