Director, M.A. Program
Tali Woodward is the director of the Master of Arts program, overseeing the curriculum and the thesis process, and serving as the academic adviser for M.A. students. She has taught courses on interviewing, reporting, and business changes in journalism. Woodward is also a freelance writer and editor. Before coming to the Journalism School, she worked for The San Francisco Bay Guardian, where she wrote investigative pieces about health care and politics and won awards for long-form writing. She has also written for magazines including Newsweek, New York, Sierra and National Geographic. Woodward earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.A. in science journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
