Tali Woodward is the deputy editor at The Trace, a nonprofit newsroom covering gun violence. She has taught courses on interviewing, reporting, and business changes in journalism. For six years, Woodward was the director of the Master of Arts pogram overseeing the curriculum and managing the thesis process. Before coming to the Journalism School as a Master of Arts student, she worked for The San Francisco Bay Guardian, where she wrote investigative pieces about health care and politics and won awards for long-form writing. She has also written for magazines including Newsweek, New York, Sierra and National Geographic. Woodward earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.A. in science journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
