Shayna Jacobs covers courts and crime for the New York Daily News. She has been assigned since 2012 to Manhattan Supreme Court’s criminal division. On her beat she has covered both trials of the former deli clerk charged in the 1979 killing of 6-year-old Etan Patz and has produced pieces on numerous other high-profile cases. She regularly breaks stories related to the courts and justice system in New York City. Shayna was also part of the News reporting team that was awarded for its coverage of Hurricane Sandy. Previously she covered courts for DNAinfo.

Shayna is a 2009 graduate of the J-school.
