Hamelin is a producer at Blue Chalk Media, where she has produced series of online short-documentaries for The New York Times, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and award-winning non-fiction videos for NGOs such as Freedom House, SEE International and Carnegie Foundation. She teaches video journalism and multimedia storytelling.
She was the recipient of the European Journalism Centre grant for Innovation in Development Reporting to report on gender equality in Rwanda, in collaboration with Time, Libération, La Stampa to name a few.
Originally French but grew up in Brazil and Thailand, she studied in France, Mexico and Hong Kong, China. She has produced work internationally, including in Egypt, Morocco, Peru -- and recently traveled throughout the African continent interviewing Heads of State.
She has freelanced with The Guardian, The New York Times, AFP, Arte TV and Vox.com -- as well as written for Libération, Le Monde, The Village Voice, and more. She's a member of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective and the Video Consortium.
She earned an M.S. from The Columbia Journalism School in 2012 and a served as a Digital Media Fellow at the school in 2013.
