Bridget O'Brian

Bridget O’Brian is an experienced, versatile editor who has worked in business journalism and higher education. 

She is currently a section editor at CNN Business, the cable channel’s website devoted to business news, where she is responsible for stories about the economy and the markets. She joined CNN after more than a decade as editor at large at Columbia University’s Office of Communications, editing stories for the university’s news pages.

Before that O'Brian worked at The Wall Street Journal, stationed in CNBC’s newsroom as a broadcast news editor responsible for coordinating content-sharing between the two media outlets, and as a reporter at the paper covering Wall Street, mutual funds and the airline industry. O'Brian started her career as a reporter for The Times-Picayune in New Orleans.

O'Brian began teaching at the Journalism School in 2007, and has taught classes in Reporting, Feature Writing and Deadline Writing. A graduate of Columbia Journalism, she received her undergraduate degree at Barnard College.
