Adam Klein

Adam Klein’s career encompasses academia, strategy consulting and senior executive roles. For more than 20 years, he has applied his expertise in "change-management" within the rapidly transforming media industry sector.

Klein has worked as a professor in strategy and general management at Harvard Business School, where he obtained both his M.B.A. (1979) and doctorate (D.B.A., 1987) in change management. Additionally, he developed and ran a strategy course for the Harvard Trade Union Program and served as a lecturer to the MBA class for five years. He conducted his undergraduate work at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

He has also worked as a strategy and change management consultant as lead partner with Booz Allen Hamilton’s media practice, the Boston Consulting Group, and for his own company, Klein & Co., specializing in strategy and change management within multi-stakeholder environments.

Today, Klein runs his own consultancy company, Media Leader LLC, following more than 20 years in executive roles leading strategic, operations and organizational change within both established and technology-led media companies, including: VideoEgg, Inc., as president; EMI Music, as executive vice president of strategy and business development, including Digital P&L; MTV Networks, as executive advisor to the chairman and CEO;, as president and chief operating officer; Hasbro, Inc., as executive vice president and president of global marketing; and South African Broadcasting Corporation, as executive advisor to the CEO.

Klein immigrated to the United States as a political exile from South Africa in 1976 where he was the general secretary of the Garment Workers Union of SA.
